B1 — from 4 years
3 years of lawful residence plus the continuous 12 months immediately before the application.

A2 — from 5 years
4 years of lawful residence plus the continuous 12 months immediately before the application.

The final 12 months are counted separately and are not included in the 3 or 4 years stated above.

Accelerated naturalisation timelines apply to high-skilled professionals employed by companies that meet the requirements of the applicable Council of Ministers decision.

You must have worked for an eligible company for at least 2 years immediately before applying.

Other factors assessed include Greek at A2 or B1 level, knowledge of the contemporary political and social reality of Cyprus, good character, suitable accommodation, stable resources, and an intention to reside in the Republic.

During the final continuous 12-month period, absences totalling up to 90 days are permitted.

Are the final 12 months included in the 3 or 4 years?

No. They are counted separately, so the total period is at least 4 years with B1 Greek and at least 5 years with A2 Greek.

Is every company eligible?

No. The employer must meet the criteria under the applicable Council of Ministers decision; eligibility is assessed individually.

Does meeting the conditions guarantee citizenship?

No. We provide a preliminary eligibility assessment and assist with preparation, but the final decision is made by the competent public authority.

What level of Greek is required?

B1 for eligibility after 3 years plus the final 12 months; A2 after 4 years plus the final 12 months.
